Government Resolution No. 278 of 15 April 2026 establishes the exact title “Day of the Kazakh Tazy and Tobet – 3 September.” It is a state commemorative date; it does not itself establish that a particular event, show, or programme is taking place.
The FCI General Assembly admitted Kazakhstan's canine organisation as a full member in August 2023. That created a formal international route for work on the national breed; it did not yet recognise the Tazy itself.

In 2023 Kazakhstan adopted a dedicated law on preserving and reproducing Kazakh dog breeds. Implementing rules describe the unified stud book for the Tazy and Tobet and the powers of participants in that process.
The PLOS ONE study analysed 114 Tazy samples with STR markers; its SNP analysis used a 39-dog subset from three regions of Kazakhstan. The Scientific Reports study of runs of homozygosity also concerns 39 genotyped dogs.
The FCI document describes the Kazakh Tazy's origin, purpose, general appearance, important proportions, behaviour, anatomy, and movement. No single clause should be judged outside the functional picture of the sighthound as a whole.
The FCI nomenclature lists the Kazakh Tazy as breed number 372. It names Kazakhstan as the country of origin, Kazakh Tazy as the breed name, and 3 September 2024 as the date of provisional recognition. The breed is placed in Group 10, Section 1.
